Advanced Internship Programme Guide

As a mental health professional, it is important for us to build the right expertise and also continuously invest in ourselves. To facilitate this, we have simple and clear goals for our counsellor training programme:

Requirements to Enter the Advanced Internship Programme

  • Attending / Completed Self Awareness Programme Levels 1, 2, and 3
  • Attending the 'Counsellor's Training Programme'
  • Those who have not done their Masters in Psychology will need to complete it during the period.

How do we work?

Supervision Sessions:
With regard to the Intern's Clinical Session. This will be held once every 15 days at a mutually convenient time between the Intern and the Supervisor for 60 - 90 minutes. The Intern needs to prepare the Client Session Report and provide the same to the Supervisor prior to the scheduled session.

Individual Sessions:
With regard to the self-awareness in the counselling sessions. This will be held once every 15 days at a mutually convenient time between the Intern and the Counsellor for 60 - 90 minutes. The supervisor will provide the Intern with various jobs that would need to be completed within the stipulated time provided.

The Intern has been provided with a Reading List, which the Intern is required to read, study, and discuss with his/her Supervisor.
